So far, today hasn’t been the Saturday we envisioned. It started off okay…we slept in until 10, had Monkey Bread and read the paper on the deck, and then…plumbing problems “plugged” up our day.
After three trips to Home Depot, Russell is now installing a new toilet. I think our toilet was the original 1970’s model so it was long overdue to be replaced…and let’s face it, we all have to flush. It’s amazing how one thing can derail your day. When it became apparent that putting a new seal wouldn’t work, we went to Home Depot and picked out a new toilet…did you know there’s an entire aisle devoted to the throne…and that you can pay up to $500 for a toilet…hello…are they insane?! We bought a “middle of the line” model and got it home only to discover that it was cracked…so back to Home Depot. So much for the vision of an afternoon in the craft room...but some things in life are necessities!
Russell is on his way to Home Depot for yes, the fourth time to get a different size connector pipe...thank God I have a patient man. Still hoping to get into the craft room. Russell has a new gizmo to hook up to his model train layout which will control all his trains and I bought a 4x6 "brag" book and want to throw together a quick little photo album to carry with me...a tangible reminder of my blessings. I made one for Russell a couple weeks ago and he carries it with him in his lunch box...sort of a love note from me to him...
